STATEMENT: The World Liberty Congress (WLC) unequivocally condemns the blatant fraud orchestrated by the Maduro regime during the recent historic presidential election in Venezuela.

The elections in Venezuela have captured global attention. Despite the regime’s announcement of its victory with 51.20% of the vote over Edmundo Gonzalez’s 44.20%, both Venezuelans and the international community are denouncing the results as fraudulent. Post-election polls and ballot analyses indicate that Gonzalez is the rightful winner, securing approximately 70% of the vote. Evidence held by The Unity consistently shows a clear victory for Edmundo Gonzalez.

After 25 years of Chavism, Venezuelans participated in an electoral process marred by the regime’s manipulation of electoral authorities. Over the past two months, citizen mobilization surged nationwide, driven by a collective hope for change and led by María Corina Machado. Although disqualified, Machado endorsed Edmundo González as her representative and unitary candidate.

Throughout the campaign and on election day, the regime’s tactics of persecution, harassment, restricted media access, and the imprisonment of opposition leaders and Machado’s team underscored Maduro’s desperation and fear of the looming reality.

The exclusion of opposition and independent international observers with technical expertise from monitoring the elections further raised serious concerns about the process’s transparency and fairness. Despite these obstacles, the regime’s actions continuously undermined the opposition’s ability to compete in a free and fair electoral environment.

The international community, including numerous political leaders, presidents, and organizations, stands in solidarity with Edmundo Gonzalez and the civil society of Venezuela, advocating for democracy and the people’s will. They collectively urge Maduro’s regime to acknowledge the genuine election results.

The World Liberty Congress rejects the fabricated results propagated by the National Electoral Council (CNE), which is under the regime’s control. We demand that the regime disclose the results from each voting table and center for thorough auditing. We call upon the international community and democratic nations to adopt an urgent and firm stance against these actions. Support and protection for the Venezuelan people in their quest for authentic democracy are imperative.

We are building the Congress as a legitimate and democratic institution with shared principles and mission, representation of all countries under autocratic regimes and clear governance structure.
The Congress will meet every year for the annual General Assembly with the intention to become an alternative voice to autocratic regimes.
