The World Liberty Congress (WLC) expresses concern over renewed fighting along the Thailand–Cambodia border and its growing humanitarian impact on civilian populations.
Recent hostilities have resulted in at least 37 deaths, nearly 400 injuries, and the displacement of more than 600,000 people, many of whom are now sheltering in overcrowded conditions. The escalation has forced the closure of hundreds of schools, disrupting education for tens of thousands of children, and has damaged or suspended operations at multiple health facilities, limiting access to essential medical care.
The reported use of F-16 fighter aircraft, as high-intensity military platforms, raises particular humanitarian concerns. When employed near populated areas, such systems significantly increase the risk of civilian casualties, infrastructure damage, and large-scale displacement, including impacts on schools and medical facilities.
WLC urges all parties to prioritize civilian protection, exercise restraint, and support de-escalation efforts. Ensuring humanitarian and media access to affected areas and displacement sites is essential, as is continued engagement by regional and international partners to support relief efforts and peaceful dialogue.
WLC emphasizes that lasting stability depends on civilian protection, humanitarian assistance, and diplomatic engagement.
