The World Liberty Congress welcomes the dismissal of the case against Félix Maradiaga, President of the WLC, in Miami-Dade.

This outcome is an important legal victory and a meaningful precedent for all those who face defamation campaigns, harassment, false accusations, and abusive legal tactics as part of transnational repression. Around the world, authoritarian regimes and their networks seek to intimidate, discredit, and silence pro-democracy leaders even after they are forced into exile.

The dismissal of this case reaffirms that democratic societies must not allow false accusations to become instruments of political persecution, nor permit disinformation and harassment campaigns to undermine the rights and dignity of dissidents in exile.

The World Liberty Congress stands in solidarity with Félix Maradiaga and with all dissidents, activists, and political exiles who continue to face intimidation beyond their countries’ borders. This victory reminds us that transnational repression must be confronted with truth, due process, legal defense, and international solidarity.
